It's Time For Wood

Escape from the normal look and add a splash of color! Each timepiece changes the vibrant display colors as if imaginary paint brushes were continuously sweeping across with very slow, random, curvy strokes causing the brush color to blend with the existing color beneath it. Each digital segment is carved into a solid wood face. They are then filled with a hard translucent material and finished flush against the wood surface. From the electronics, firmware, and mechanical designs to cutting and finishing the wood, one person does it all with a passion for hiding technology behind a cloak of beautiful, natural wood.

General Features:
  • Made from solid wood with no veneers.
  • Automatic intensity control to match room brightness.
  • Will not interfere with sleep. All digits reduce to a comfortable dim red color in dark rooms.
  • Grain-filled finishes are hand sanded and polished. These time pieces are easy to clean and never trap dust in fine wood pores.
  • Our process is burn-mark free because we do not use cutting or engraving lasers.
  • Each piece is personally signed and catalogued.

Notes Regarding Photography:

I find it difficult to photograph brilliant LED color because the illumination is exceptionally bright compared to the dimmer wood surface. LED light tends to saturate CCD camera sensors causing the color to wash out. I have found that the reflection of LED light from a black mirror better represents the true color that your eyes see, so I often use black mirrors when photographing these timepieces.

Curvature Series

This series gets its name because of the curved nature of the designs. Convex shapes form the front and back sides. Tangent arcs and curves form all of the other features such that there are no straight lines anywhere except for the flat velvet-lined bottom.

Unique Curvature Series Features:
  • This design shows off the grain of the wood in every direction and angle.
  • A single block of wood makes up the body and stand which often captures a sweeping and bending motion of wood grain.
  • These clocks measure 22 inches wide by 7.5 inches tall and weigh 6 to 7 pounds. The numbers measure 4.75-inches high, making them easily readable from across a large size room.
  • More than 500 LEDs create random colorful patterns that move too slowly to notice at a glance. Watching the slowly moving color can be calming and mesmerizing.

Nightstand Series

These clocks are made for bedroom nightstands. The alarm is optionally turned off by simply bumping the nightstand. The bright color that is displayed during the day will slowly fade to an easily readable dim red when the room is dark so they will never interfere with sleep.
