The Curvature Timepiece Series

The Curvature Series collection is truly captivating. While lumber comes in various cuts like plain sawn, rift sawn, quarter sawn, and live sawn, what sets this collection apart is its curves. These curves beautifully expose the wood grain, regardless of the cut or harvesting method. It's like the wood grain itself is reaching out, wrapping around the piece in a long, loving embrace.

Display Details:

This series is ideal for large indoor rooms where it will capture the attention of all that enter. Color slowly sweeps across the face from one point to another; it does not simply change in place. The sweeping action randomly starts, stops, and curves around at different points so you may never see exactly the same color pattern more than once.

The digit intensity automatically dims or brightens according to the brightness of its environment. The picture shown here depicts the display in an outdoor setting on a bright sunny day where the time is still easy to read.

Fade to Red:

Drift off to sleep peacefully with the Curvature Series clock. Its display gently fades to a soft, red glow when the lights go out, ensuring easy readability without disrupting your slumber. The large 4.5-inch digits are clearly visible from across the room so you can check the time without fumbling for your glasses in the middle of the night.

USB-C Power Requirements:

There are more than 500 LEDs that light up the display and those LEDs require power from a standard USB-C adapter that supports Power Delivery (USB-C PD) of at least 30-watts. The display will show PD Err as shown here in the event that the USB adapter is not compatible with the PD requirements. Also make sure the cable from the adapter to the timepiece can handle PD connections of at least 30-watts.

Wood Finish:

Finishing wood is a personal choice to many wood workers. I prefer to show the natural beauty of wood without artificial colors or stains. I usually use crystal clear finishing materials that do not turn yellow. I like to see a uniform look and feel despite the hybrid surface of wood and resin when integrating colorful lighting through the wood. Sometimes I turn out a thick, glass-like reflective finish. Sometimes I produce a thin, satin smooth result. It all depends on the piece I am building, and what I feel that piece demands.

Whatever finish I apply, they all go through the same final by-hand processes of surface sanding and polishing. The end result is a smooth, hard and durable finish with no open grain that can trap dust and no edges or surfaces that can snag a dusting cloth.
